Vocabulary Earned Positive Feedback
November 20, 2008, Sugar Land
Dear parents,
In this fall semester, Beestar has deployed Vocabulary exercises.
They were earnestly developed for building a solid vocabulary foundation.
They are especially useful in consolidating what kids should know at their grade level and preparing
them for the state standardized tests, such as Texas TAKS, Virginia SOL, and California Standards Tests.
Exceeding Science and Social Studies in its first term registration, vocabulary program has been a hot topic among
users. Beestar has received a lot positive feedback from parents and children.
Children take it as a new opportunity to grow their words and to compete with others like a fun game.
From catching up to showing off, they become more and more confident in school.
More and more parents see
the importance of a rich vocabulary for a sound elementary education. They find Beestar program
a good place to invest for their children's future. One parent
wrote in her message to Beestar:
"My son in high school doesn't do well in language courses because his
vocabulary is limited. Even though he is working very hard to improve, I just don't see a significant
change soon... I find that vocabulary is the hardest thing to catch up in high school.
I regret not paying enough attention to him in the previous years... I won't let this happen to my daughter...
She has been doing the extras from fifth grade... Your program is a great help!"
A broad vocabulary will boost a child's continuous learning in many far-reaching ways.
It is time to do the extras to snowball words for a strong language foundation.
The other big event this fall is hurricane Ike. It caused a major interruption of Beestar's web service.
Some students could not get on the honor roll because of the downtime.
Beestar staff attempted to include those affected on honor roll. However, we had to
halt the effort to avoid risky software complications that may crash the web site.
Beestar has decided to leave the ranking as it is for this fall semester.
We deeply apologize for the students whose honor roll and ranking were interrupted.
Thanks to the many users who expressed their support and understanding
during the difficult days. We are glad to see that most students have made up the missed
exercises and have left the small setback behind them.
Looking ahead, Beestar will continue to improve its existing programs and roll out new exercises
into spring 2009. You are welcome to send your suggestions and comments to info@beestar.org for us
to include your ideas into our programs. Our goal is always to serve you better.
Have a wonderful exercise semester!
Best wishes,
Beestar Team
